Nice article.

Regarding the goal replay. Modern deconvolution software could have rendered that video in about 1min and given a precise puck location. How has the NHL not considered this given the low cost and the issues it could resolve especially if this happened in the playoffs?

Is this the first or second game that Montreal out-shot their opponent?

Same could be said for half the teams out there; if Stamkos wasnt there or sucked TB wouldn't be the team they are, if Crosby sucked Pitt would certainly suck, if Kessel sucked... haha j/k Tor sucks anyway.

It's when the emotion comes up a level, when the breakouts avoid big hits, the break ins become heavier, the speed ramps up, the interceptors are on high alert, the great passes stand out more because there's less space, the great shots meet greater saves and the shoving becomes punching fights that we get the hockey we're accustomed to loving. Playoff-type hockey.

This is playoff-type bloggin' sir.

That was awesome game but still upset how they rely on carey price. It's not a crime to give him a little goal support. I blame this on michael who imo is a horrible coach only getting his job saved by price.

Pacioretty impressing me on his clutch 3rd period goals this year but I won't get too excited yet as he tends to disappear come playoff time. Ask lafleur . Let's hope he turned the corner. He's still young

first time i've seen the Weise replay. pretty hard to imagine that puck didn't fully cross but it's an irreversible call no doubt. and maybe it was a good thing because like Eric said, who knows how the complexity of the game changes.

as for Subban. the criticism he faced through the first 30-35 games of the season never made any sense. he's been outstanding all season long and easily Montreal's best and most valuable player outside of Price. he seems to be one of those guys where people watch and just latch on to every mistake he makes without recognizing the 10 great plays he makes around that mistake. he's dialed back the flash a bit but he's more effective right now than he has ever been.

Put any other goalie than Lundquist out there and the game is a different one.

The "save" on Weise was just ridiculous even though I think the puck went in. The glove save on Pacioretty's topsheft wrister. Quite a few other key saves.

It was two of the top goalies in the league giving a clinic. Habs played a great game.

your record is your record. it doesn't lie. but i think we all prefer to see games like last night as opposed to games like Tuesday.

On that I can agree. One of the best games I saw them play this year

Dude, don't get me wrong.. Habs have been playing bad hockey games for most of the season. But you can't take away the fact that they always find ways to win.

If they can find a way to play 60 mins consistently, then they will be a force to recon with.

He's been great all year. My only complaint is he's not putting enough pucks to the net.

He's 11th in points this year. 9 of the 10 in front of him have more shots than he does.

He has one of the most lethal shot. He needs to shoot more. Also, he needs to hit the damn net. Habs are doing a great job of getting traffic in front and guys "paying the price".

Habs could use Justin Williams in the playoffs. I don't want him traded out of LA but there are rumours so I'd take him on montreal in a heartbeat.

Great fit for the Habs

they already are FFS. 65 points means they're one of the better teams in the entire league.

Yup, also guys like Emelin who are really missed by this team shine when the games are intense. Unfortunately, he needs a Lucic playing for the other team.

I think he needs to find a way to imagine everyone on the other team is Lucic. He could be one of the most intense guys on the team.

Prust, Gallagher, Eller. All guys that play at their best when the games are physical and filled with emotion.
